Historical background
The line appears in a passage of the Daodejing that questions accumulation and fixed self-assertion. It should not be reduced to a modern productivity slogan or an instruction to own less.
Curator’s interpretation
At a crowded festival, “less” can mean making enough room to notice. The poster does not ask visitors to reject the city’s energy. It invites a different rhythm within it: fewer rushed conclusions, more attention to the leaf, cup, artwork, and person nearby.
