Curator’s interpretation
This series makes Edmonton more than a background. River-valley colours, map fragments, winter light, neighbourhood language, calligraphy, flowers, teaware, and mountain painting are layered together. The result is not a claim that Edmonton and a classical Chinese landscape are the same. It is a visual study of how images acquire new relations when they travel.
